In order to achieve a complete picture of your case, Dr. Bean commonly advises for lab work to be done. There are two types of labs Dr. Bean utilizes: conventional labs and functional labs.
For conventional labs, she will refer you to a medical doctor to have specific blood work or imaging done. Dr. Bean has a working relationship with a variety of medical doctors and specialists that she refers to for necessary lab work that may be pertinent to your case.
The functional labs that Dr. Bean uses in her office consist of more indepth screening that involves urine, saliva or stool. She has had excellent results in uncovering areas such as:
Heavy metal toxicity
Mitochondrial dysfunction
Yeast overgrowth
Bacterial overgrowth
Parasite overgrowth
Digestive inflammation
Detoxification ability
Vitamin Deficiency
Pyroluria testing
In addition to offering a variety of functional tests, Dr. Bean is doing extensive training with Dr. Ben Lynch, ND to learn more about genetic testing and how genetic mutations plays a role in our overall health.
She is the first practitioner in SE Asia to be listed as an MTHFR practitioner – see HERE for more information.
Dr. Bean is able to interpret your 23andme results as a result of the training she is doing.
